What Each Section Does?

1. Add URLs

  • Type your main website address first
  • Then list all your pages (one per line)
  • Or upload a .txt file if you have lots of pages

2. Priority (Optional)

  • Tells Google which pages are most important
  • 1.0 = Super important (like your homepage)
  • 0.5 = Normal pages
  • 0.1 = Less important (like old blog posts)

3. Last Modified Date (Optional)

  • Shows when you last updated each page
  • Helps search engines know what's fresh

4. Change Frequency (Optional)

  • Tells search engines how often you update pages
  • Daily = News pages
  • Weekly = Blog posts
  • Monthly = About pages
  • Yearly = Contact info

Two Ways to Set Values

Option 1: Apply to All

  • Check "Apply to All URLs"
  • Pick one value for everything
  • Perfect when all pages are similar

Option 2: Set Ranges

  • Assign different values to different pages
  • Like: Pages 1-10 get high priority
  • Pages 11-50 get normal priority
  • Super flexible!

Priorities are assigned based on the URL's position in the final list, adapting to the number of URLs provided.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's this priority thing?

It's like telling Google "Hey, check this page first, it's important!" Your homepage should be 1.0, regular pages 0.5, and old stuff can be 0.3 or less.

I'm getting a conflict error - help!

This happens when you try to give the same page two different values. Like saying page 50 has both high AND low priority. Fix it by:
Check your number ranges
Make sure they don't overlap
Red boxes show you where the problem is

What if I have 1000 or more pages?

No problem! You can:
Upload a .txt file with all your URLs
Use "Apply to All" for quick setup
Or set different ranges (1-100 high priority, 101-1000 normal)

Is my data safe?

Totally! Everything happens in your browser. We don't save or send your URLs anywhere. It's like using a calculator - all local!

The ranges are confusing me, explain please?

Think of it like organizing books:
Books 1-10 go on the top shelf (high priority)
Books 11-50 go on middle shelf (normal)
Books 51-100 go on bottom shelf (low) Each book can only be on ONE shelf!

Should I use dates?

Yes if:
You update content regularly
You have a blog or news site
You want Google to check for new stuff
No if:
Your pages rarely change
You have a simple business site

What's change frequency for?

It's a hint to Google about how often to check back:
Always: Stock prices, live scores
Daily: News, active blogs
Weekly: Regular blogs
Monthly: Product pages
Yearly: About Us, Contact
Never: Old archived stuff

Can I edit the sitemap after?

Yes! It downloads as a .xml file. You can open it in any text editor and make changes.
"What do I do with the file?"
Download it (it's called sitemap.xml)
Upload to your website's main folder
Tell Google about it in Search Console
You're done!
